I use various ceramic techniques throughout my making process, including hand-building, pinch-forming, slab-forming and slip-casting.

At the moment I am obsessed with using coloured slips (powdered ceramic stains of various colours mixed into white porcelain slip to keep them brightest). This means that there is more texture than using a flat colour like an underglaze, and more of a painterly feel, which I like.

I high-fire to stoneware temperature of 1280 degrees Celcius, and use clear glaze to make the objects stronger physically. This also makes the surfaces easier to clean in a practical sense. All earrings and cups are washable with warm water and dishwashing detergent.

All of my work is hand-made and hand-painted by me, in my studio in Melbourne, Australia.
